The Star newspaper is mourning thth of its veteran journalist Reuben Githinji.

The 52-year-old Embu-based reporter succumbed to Covid-19 complications on Wednesday.

His sister Grace Wacheke said Githinji passed on at 8.30 am at the Murang'a Hospital where he was undergoing treatment.

He had been taken ill last week and rushed to Embu Referral Hospital where he was admitted in critical condition.

Githinji is survived by a wife and one child, a Form Four candidate.

The seventh born in a family of eight, Githinji will be buried at his Nyahururu village home.
