Death At The Police Station

The life of a police officer was cut short on the 2nd of January after the New Year's celebration. The officer was reported to have fallen victim to an attack by Samburu morans who tricked him by approaching the station and asking for drinking water. He then headed over to a water tank to get them water where he was shot dead. 

At the occurrence of the incident, Corporal Peter Lolkireri happened to be out on patrol in the company of other officers and immediately heard the gunshots. He then reported the incident. Namunyak Conservancy Rangers found the lifeless body and later on, the incident was confirmed by a combined security team under the command of the area Deputy Officer Commanding Station (OCS) who visited the scene. His body was then taken to the Isiolo Teaching and Referral Hospital and is awaiting a postmortem examination.

Further investigations into the crime established that the attack was revenge following the increased operations in the area. Meanwhile, police officers have increased surveillance in order to capture the perpetrators.
