During the inspection of Competency-Based Curriculum(CBC) classroom construction on Monday, the 27th of December, Cabinet Secretary George Magoha addressed the public clearly stating that any unruly student who wishes to go home should be allowed to do so instead of being detained in school.
This follows a series of several reported cases of students who burnt down schools, causing unrest to fellow students. Magoha added that such students are better off at home instead of being in school where they can cause harm to both students and school property. He further commended the larger percentage of focused students and teachers who are working tirelessly in schools.
This comes after confirmation from Magoha during mid-December where he confirmed that the national examinations scheduled for March will go on as planned. He urged students to stay calm and prepare for the tests and assured them that the testing will take into consideration the inconveniences caused by the disruption of the academic year.
