A student from Maranda High school lost his life after a grisly road accident that involved a 14-seater Matatu that was trying to avoid hitting a motorbike, rammed head-on with a trailer. 

The student is among five people who perished in the accident while traveling from Kisii in the accident. 

Masaba North Police Boss Robert Ndambiri confirmed the incident while urging drivers to be extra vigilant, especially during this easter season.

The injured were rushed to Keroka District Hospital, St. Catherine Ichuni Mission Hospital, and the Kisii Teaching and Referral Hospital for treatment.
